Genesis 1:28 And God blessed them. And God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”
In whatever daily arena you participate in, you have this command. Be fruitful, multiply, subdue and take dominion. Your daily arena could be one of many places. A stay at home mom. A leader in ministry. A 9-to-5 working adult. A creative, artsy type. A business entrepreneur. Whatever and wherever your calling leads you … the command is always the same. And yes, that is a command — not a choice!
Your life is meant to be fruitful. You should work hard at whatever you put your hands to. Be productive. Consistent. Reliable. Persistent. Be excellent. Be a good steward. Be prosperous.
Colossians 3:23-24 Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.
Once you have mastered fruitful, then – and only then – should you multiply. If you multiply too soon, you will create massive dysfunction. Multiplied dysfunction is a whole mess of not good stuff. In order to multiply in the supernatural, you must sow seeds. Sometimes those seeds are financial seeds. However, sowing of your time, your talents and your giftings are also supernatural investments that are not overlooked by the Father. He takes all of those investments and applies his math equation which is always so much more than we could ever fathom. This is where the miraculous multiplication comes into play.
Next we are to subdue. The definition of subdue is to conquer and bring into subjection. To subdue your home. Your job. Your marketplace of business. To be in complete control. To be the master. This is a place of divine favor. Supernatural authority.
Once you reach the final destination of dominion. You will be at a place that is pleasing to the Father! By definition, dominion is the supreme authority. This is the place the Lord has called each of us to. We are to take dominion over all of the natural world, just as Genesis 1:28 states. In this place, you can be the voice of authority to others. You can mentor. Give instruction.
People look to you for the solution! You will become the solution to problems, because you have mastered your arena. You have created much value because of your knowledge and experience. When you create value — prosperity follows. Prosperity is attracted to value like a magnet. The more dominion you have in your arena, the more value you have — which then directly allows you to be more prosperous.
Where does your life – your job, your ministry, your business – fit in with the above command from the Lord? Are you fruitful? Have you sown seeds and multiplied? Have you subdued? Or are you a Kingdom dominator? Are you living a prosperous life? The life the Lord has called you to.
